Rick Sonata
He makes a sudden turn of the head and you gasp.
It's eerie - he is Frank Sinatra as he was fifty years ago. This is
the often-repeated comment you hear about this singer. Rick Sonata,
born to Italian parents, grew up listening to Sinatra. It's not just
his stage presence, his cocky swagger, the phrasing of his songs or his
resemblance to Sinatra ... Rick has vocal talent, a feel for the music and
the personal magnetism necessary for a headline performer. He has
appeared on the nightclub circuit for more that fifteen years. In
2003, Rick won "The World Tribute Artist Championship" in Fort Erie, Ontario
and is thrilled to be the first to win this championship. In 2001,
"Legends in Concert" producer John Stuart saw a video of Rick and promptly
flew him to Las Vegas where he was hired as the Crooner for his production
in Atlantic City, Branson Missouri and Myrtle Beach. Rick brought his
incredible vocal range and charisma to the stage, performing as Sinatra for
thirty six weeks. Rick's uncanny resemblance to Sinatra, his
incredible vocal range, and high-energy charisma, has led to performances in
Canada, United States and Italy tour 2000 where the European media called
him "The Voice". Australia tour 2001 and 2002. Traveling
throughout the country and world with his seven to sixteen piece orchestra
in such hot spots as Reno, Atlantic City, New York New York Hotel Casino in
Las Vegas and many other cities in Canada. Rick has also headlined
many corporate and fundraising events such as NHL Awards, Bombardier, The
Keg Steakhouse, Daffodil Ball, Humber River Regional Hospital Foundation and
many others, bringing the Big Bad swing back to the days of the Sands.
When off stage Rick enjoys gourmet Italian
cooking and spending quality time with his family.
